🌗 How Do You Clear A Dpf Warning Light
At the very start of the trip the DPF light came on but an hour blasting the hell out of it seemed to work. It drove without problems for another 1000kms but once I started moving through slower traffic the warning light came on after an hour. It wouldn't clear and went into safe mode. Audi in Split (Croatia) said they couldn't find a fault.
The threshold for a regeneration can be exceeded. If this happens, a warning light will illuminate and power may be restricted (limp home mode). There are other possible reasons for an engine management light (EML) or a DPF warning light to illuminate, such as an electrical fault with either a temperature sensor or a differential pressure sensor.
Here’s how to clear the warning light and get your car back to normal: Park your car in a safe place and turn off the engine. Locate the DPF sensor and clean it with a wire brush or other suitable tool. Clear any debris from around the sensor so that it can work properly. Restart your engine and check the warning light again.
Ignoring the message and continuing to drive with the warning message ON and the exhaust filter not being cleaned as required will eventually result in the following: 7.1. The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) will illuminate at which point the DPF warning message will be displayed and a chime will also sound. 7.2.
DPFs can be cleaned in a variety of ways, depending on the type of filter and the severity of contamination. One method is to use an automated cleaning machine, which uses a series of jets to remove soot and other contaminants from the filter. High air pressure is used to agitate the particles and remove them from the filter.
Often, the DPF warning light will go off o I think it is ok, but within a few miles the engine service light ( a spanner ) and the engine fault light will come on and once this happens, I cannot run a forced regeneration myself, I need to take it back to Ford. It is still under its 3 year warranty until June this year an they have had it back 5
The system is self-cleaning and usually does so without driver knowledge. On occasions (usually after frequent short drives), the DPF warning light comes on and requires driver intervention. To clean the DPF: drive at more than 60km/h (37 mph), or at a high engine speed (1500 to 2000 engine rpm) in a gear higher than 2nd for around 25 minutes.
4. Connect a handheld vacuum pump to the sensor’s intake port. Push the end of the pump’s hose onto the exposed sensor port. Make sure the hose forms a tight seal on the port, or else you won’t be able to test the sensor accurately. Position the pump so you can easily see the pressure gauge and access the hand pump.
2) take the car to a Halfords garage who offer a on car cleaning service. They pretty much do what I've written above but also plug the car into a machine to force a static regen. They then take the car for a test drive. 3) remove the DPF myself and soak overnight in a cleaner. Then re fit, delete the code and again take on the motorway.
Mustafa’s DPF warning-light breakdown **1. (at top) The high exhaust temperature light indicates that passive regeneration is occurring. This occurs when the engine is under at least 50 percent
Most cars have a two-stage warning system to let you know when the DPF is becoming clogged. If you see an amber light, you should be able to get the DPF to regenerate itself by driving over 40mph
