🐕 Li Ion Battery Price Per Kwh
Typically, EV battery prices are reported in terms of cost per kWh. In 2021, the cost of lithium-ion batteries, the most popular type of battery used in EVs, dropped to between $100 and $200 per kWh.
Ben Kallo at equity analyst firm RW Baird believes that Tesla's current battery costs are ~$150 to ~$200 per kilowatt-hour, well below the industry average pack costs of ~$350 per kilowatt-hour
LFP also uses roughly 10% less lithium per kWh than nickel-based chemistries. Because LFP is more thermally stable, the battery pack design becomes much less complex (i.e. non-cell mass in the pack is reduced) and with the innovation of cell-to-pack integration, we could be seeing LFP packs with an energy density of 180 Wh/kg.
$150–$200/kWh. Figure 2 shows findings from the studies cited in the Table 1 notes to illustrate the likely range of battery pack costs for 2020–2030. Several 2 Bloomberg New Energy Finance, “A Behind the Scenes Take on Lithium-ion Battery Prices” (March 5, 2019),
The current retail price for this battery is $309.99. Over a 10-year lifespan, the battery is capable of 6,000 charge/discharge cycles at 80% DOD. Let’s assume one full charge/discharge cycle per day at a total capacity of 1.2 kWh per cycle.

Battery electric cars have an energy consumption between 2.5 miles (4.0 km)/kWh (85 MPGe) and 5.0 miles (8.0 km)/kWh (135 MPGe). United States Secretary of Energy Steven Chu predicted costs for a 40-mile range battery will drop from a price in 2008 of US$12,000 to US$3,600 in 2015 and further to US$1,500 by 2020.
The volume-weighted average for lithium-ion battery pack prices reached $151/kwh this year, a 7% increase over 2021, according to the report. predicting average pack prices of $152/kwh. GM

Hello Craig, if you run a fridge that uses 0.2 kWh per hour for 24 hours, you use 4.8 kWh. A 170Ah 12V battery holds 2,040 Wh. If you run such a fridge with this battery, you would need 4,800 Wh to run it for 24h. 2,040 Wh battery you have will run it for a little bit over 10 hours. Hope this calculation helps.
Cost per kWh (cell): 60 USD (55,27 EUR) Cost per kWh (battery): 80 USD (73,70 EUR) Hypothetical 60 kWh battery. Cost of cells: 3.600 USD (3.316 EUR) Cost of complete battery pack: 4.800 USD (4.422 EUR) Pros. High power density; Extremely safe; High cycle life; Low cost; Cons. Gravimetric and volumetric energy densities aren’t as high as in
